Zunko, the company that brings about the first-ever trading app in Mauritius, is proud to announce its rebranding and the launch of its new identity. The rebranding is part of the company's strategic plan to improve its brand image and better represent its values, mission, and vision. The new brand identity includes a new name, logo, colour palette, and website design.
"Our rebranding represents a significant milestone for our company," says Ishant Ayadassen, CEO and founder of Zunko. "We are excited to introduce our new identity, which tallies more with our mission to make financial freedom accessible to all Africans. We believe that our new brand is a nod to Africans’ struggle to own appreciating and revenue-generating assets, coupled with the mission to change this reality."
To understand our new brand name, it is essential to delve into our dear friend Zunko’s life. Zunko is a successful trader from a small village in Africa, who had a passion for investing in international markets. Despite the lack of resources and access to information, Zunko persevered and became known for his ability to identify lucrative opportunities in the stock market. He inspired a new generation of African investors, including the Zunko team.
Zunko was born and raised in a small village in Africa, where access to resources and information was limited. Despite the challenges, Zunko was a curious child and always had a fascination for finance and investing. He spent his spare time reading books about investing and started saving money from odd jobs to invest in local businesses.
As Zunko grew older, he realised that the opportunities for investing and financial growth in his village were limited. He knew that he had to expand his horizons and seek out opportunities beyond his village. So, he set out on a journey to explore the world of international markets.
Zunko faced many obstacles on his journey like exorbitant account opening, account maintenance, trading, deposit, and withdrawal fees, no accessible ways to learn about trading, and extreme difficulty to get in touch with a broker to place his trades. He had to walk up to 10 kilometres to access the line that he would use to contact his broker. Zunko’s struggles did not stop here, but unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury to delve into his inspiring journey here. You will find out more about this incredible man as you follow our journey on social media.
To honour Zunko’s legacy and make investing more accessible to Africans, the Zunko app was created. The app intends to provide a platform for Africans to easily access the U.S. stock market and invest in stocks and crypto at affordable prices.
Aside from the change in name, the new colour palette (composed of blue and purple tones) attests to particular characteristics found in the 2 versions of the app. We currently offer the simulator version of the app, where users can practise trading with fake money. This version of the app will embody blue tones, which connote trust and stability, as people can practise trading without putting their money on the line. Purple will be used for the live app, as it connotes wealth and luxury, which tallies with Zunko’s mission, which is to be a facilitator for Africans to grow their wealth. However, given that the live app is not available yet, the simulator version of the app currently has the purple tone. Download the Zunko app and start trading now using the simulator.
Finally, the logo ties everything up and embodies the very essence of the app. While the first thing that might jump to the eye is the ‘Z’ of Zunko, the shape chosen for the ‘Z’ is a creatively altered version of the graphs you see in the trading world.
